Aged Assets

Ever seen that photo of Helen Mirren strutting around in a bikini when she was like 62 years old? Ever seen an Annette Bening movie made after about 2009? How about all the later works of Pierce Brosnan or George Clooney?

Aged assets.

In financial terms, it means something slightly different. For a business owner, an aged asset is a piece of equipment that has basically passed its usefulness date. Think of it like a car that still runs, but leaks oil, guzzles gas, and is one pothole bounce away from dropping the transmission. It's upkeep costs more than its value, suggesting it might be time for a newer model.
