A term that sounds like it was coined by a robot who was a fan of Game of Thrones and then decided to write a history of the development of robots.
AI winter refers to a period in the development of artificial intelligence when interest in the subject was low. Presumably, this includes the period roughly from 5000 BC through about 1950 AD. It also likely includes at least the few months in 1968 immediately after the release of 2001: A Space Odyssey.
