Assembly language is a low-level programming language that is designed for a specific type of computer processor. Higher level languages, like Visual Basic or C++, are compiled into assembly language. It’s the closest language to binary that there is, and the core of everything. So, just about every computer language is compiled into assembly language to operate a device.
