Augmented Reality

Categories: Tech

The future tech where you get to live life as a viking, just like you always dreamed.
It's a form of technology where a person uses some device (a phone or a tablet or maybe a pair of glasses that would get made fun of at most high schools) to add computer images to their real-world interactions. So you look through your phone at your couch. Your couch is still there per usual, but sitting on it is Abraham Lincoln, who then answers your questions about the Battle of Gettysburg.
As of 2018, augmented reality is mostly used for video games. The most famous example is Pokemon Go, a game where people ignore their friends and family, wander into stranger's yards and risk collisions with various stationary objects and moving cars in order to virtually trap digitally-generated creatures that appear to be infesting the world around them through the magic of augmented reality.
