Available Balance
  
Bank account term...you probably see this one all the time. It measures how much money you got in your account that is available to you to spend (See: Availability Schedule).
You may have just deposited a check for three grand (nice!) but it takes a few days to clear. So that $3,000 may NOT be available to you that moment if you want to withdraw a load to go buy that new flatscreen.
