Casinos always favor the house. Still, people pile into Las Vegas every day to try their luck. They want to score big, hit the jackpot. Wall Street offers some of the same get-rich-quick appeal. Some people aren't in it for steady gains. They want to make big returns fast.

For those "investors," there's a term: casino finance. The phrase refers to those high-risk investments where the player could earn big rewards...or lose equally big. It's really not investing at all...it's more about speculation, playing the market the same way you might play a roulette wheel.
