Grantee
Categories: Trusts and Estates
You're buying 100 acres of land in Texas to build Rootin’ Tootin’ Ville, a cowboy-themed amusement park. You pay your money and receive title for the real estate that will one day become your dude ranch dream.
In that transaction, you are the grantee. Generally speaking, a grantee is anyone who receives a grant. Real estate-wise, that designation goes to the buyer.
The same goes for other financial transactions. For instance, the term comes up in option trading, where the grantee is the party buying the call or put.
