The term "monoline" describes a company that has just one business. Usually it comes up in the financial services industry.
So if your company just does home mortgages and nothing else (you won't even allow a vending machine on the premises), that's an example of a monoline. Or...you run an insurance company that only provides pet insurance for calico cats between the ages of two and seven. That's a hard monoline.
