Munifacts

Munifacts is an ancient artifact: a private reporting service (over “wires” initially) for municipal bonds. Municipal bonds are local bonds, called “muni”s, which can be lent out by local or state governments in exchange for interest (the coupon rate).

So “munifacts” is basically the facts on the munis. You can get info on the hottest munis still today via the Municipal Market Monitor, aka TM3, with a subscription from Thomson Reuters. Munifacts was folded into subscription service awhile ago, so while it no longer has a fun name, you can still get your muni facts.
