What you pay for something. Duh.
The tricky part here is including all costs. Like...when you pay $28.23 for a share of stock, did that quoted purchase price include commissions or any other fees that got loaded on there? If you bought $200 earrings on a credit card you didn't pay off for a year, did it include the $24 of interest you paid along the way? You gotta do the math, or it bites ya.
