Context
This line is written by Matthew in Matthew 6:20.
Here's another great quote from Jesus' Sermon on the Mount—right after the bit about not being a hypocrite and just before "no man can serve two masters." Basically, we are all supposed to "lay up our treasures," or put the most value on more eternal, heavenly things. We're guessing that doesn't mean a cheeseburger.
Dang it.
Where you've heard it
This one may be the classic "money isn't everything" quote. You might hear it when someone (probably a religious someone) thinks someone else is putting too much value on money.
Pretentious Factor
If you were to drop this quote at a dinner party, would you get an in-unison "awww" or would everyone roll their eyes and never invite you back? Here it is, on a scale of 1-10.
Sounds kinda pretentious to us, unless you're a priest or something.
