Lester is a rock-and-roll guru, a music journalism sage. He does his best to take young William under his wing, helping guide our protagonist through the trials and tribulations of the world of rock and roll. Though he's not physically there to accompany William, Lester's mentorship is invaluable: with an ever-open ear and always on-point advice, he helps William become not only the best writer he can be, but also the best person.
