Roy to Joe

Roy plays the mentor for Joe is in the first part of the play. The older lawyer represents the conservative ideal that Joe aspires to. When Roy offers Joe a chance to work in the Justice Department in Washington, DC, it's a dream come true for the idealistic young man. Joe wants to be part of the national conservative movement being led by President Reagan, and Roy is the gateway to all that. By the end of Millennium Approaches, however, Joe refuses to take the job and is moving away from Roy.
