Character Analysis
Genevieve is Lena's great-great-great-great (whew!) grandmother. She gets her screen time during the Civil War flashbacks.
A Fateful Day
We really only get a glimpse into one day of Genevieve's life, but oh what a day it is. As Greenbrier, her estate, burns to the ground, Genevieve loses her sister, Evangeline, and her mother. She is reunited with her long-lost love, Ethan Carter Wate, only to see him get shot and die minutes later.
She tries to resurrect her man with a forbidden spell from The Book of Moons. She not only fails, but she manages to curse her family for generations.
So yeah.
While we admire Genevieve's determination, her actions just prove that old saying: look before you leap. Desperate acts can sometimes have dire consequences. Do you think things would have ended differently if she had just taken a few hours to think things over?
