Beetlejuice Scene 17 Summary

Turn on the Juice

  • Meanwhile, inside the model, Betelgeuse isn't real impressed with Adam and Barbara's ghoul factor. He thinks it's time to kick things up a notch.
  • Charles, Delia, Otho, and Lydia head back downstairs and talk about plans for the house. Maybe they could build a supernatural amusement park? Sounds like fun.
  • On the second floor landing, Delia runs her hands along the banister and suddenly realizes that the railing has turned into a snake with the head of Betelgeuse.
  • The snake juts under Delia's legs and she rushes into a bedroom to hide.
  • Otho tries to get away and Betelgeuse pushes him down the staircase.
  • Charles tries to hide in one of the rooms, but Betelgeuse grabs him by the ankle and drops him off the second story landing.
  • As the Betelgeuse snake approaches a horrified Lydia, Barbara comes down from the attic and sees what's going on. She shouts, "Betelgeuse, Betelgeuse, Betelgeuse!" and the snake disappears.
  • Lydia's freaked out and thinks the Maitlands have something to do with this. She shouts at them to leave her alone and runs off.
