Pablo Neruda was just a pen name, one he modeled after the Czech poet, Jan Neruda. His real name was Ricardo Eliecer Neftalí Reyes Basoalto. Yeah, we'd go with Pablo too.

In 1971, Neruda was nominated for the presidency of Chile by the Communist party. He later withdrew from the race.

Neruda's body was exhumed forty years after his death in 1973. Family members suspected that he had been poisoned for political reasons, but poising was ruled out as a result of the testing.
