Chaucer (The Narrator) Timeline and Summary

Chaucer meets the pilgrims at the tavern near Southwark, becomes one of their company, and describes all of their characters.
In the Prologue to Sir Thopas, the Host makes fun of Chaucer for being fat and asks him to tell a tale.
After the Tale of Sir Thopas, the Host rebukes Chaucer for his horrible rhyming and suggests that he tell a tale in prose. Chaucer agrees.
