The Cook Timeline and Summary

The Cook's portrait is the twelfth in the General Prologue.
Before his tale, the Host takes the Cook to task for selling stale meat-pies, giving pilgrims food poisoning, and running an unclean kitchen.
The Cook is the fourth to tell his tale, after the Reeve and before the Man of Law.
In the Manciple's Prologue, the Cook is so drunk that he can barely stay on his horse. He gets in a fight with the Manciple, during which he falls off his horse. To resolve the conflict, the Manciple gives the Cook more alcohol.
