The Knight Timeline and Summary

The Knight is the first pilgrim Chaucer introduces in the General Prologue.
At the beginning of the pilgrimage, the Knight is the first to tell his tale.
When the Pardoner and the Host fight at the end of the Pardoner's tale, the Knight makes peace between them.
The Knight prevents the Monk from finishing his tale, saying his tragedies are too sad and it is better to tell stories about people whose fortunes take a turn for the better.
