Dandelion Wine Chapter 16 Summary

  • Doug has his notebook out again. He's recording ceremonies: July 4th, new shoes, first Eskimo Pie, first time going barefoot in the grass.
  • He asks Tom what he's got; Tom leans over and whispers in Doug's ear, and Doug writes it down.
  • "That's brilliant!" says Doug. "It's true. Old people never were children!"
  • Tom says it's actually kind of sad, since there's nothing they can do to help them.
