Character Role Analysis

Millard Farmer

Millard isn't in the book a ton, and he's not even a major character, exactly. But he's the lawyer who takes Pat's case and starts to teach Prejean about the inequities involved in death-penalty cases. He's also the one who gets Prejean to take Robert Lee Willie's case. Now, Prejean believes her real guide and mentor, the one who gets her to commit to social justice and who leads her on the right path, is Jesus Christ. But on earth, Millard Farmer does his best.
