Entwined Chapter 30 Summary

  • By February things are almost back to normal. Clover and Bramble act love-struck all the time, but Azalea's annoyed because she hasn't heard a word from Mr. Bradford.
  • The King shows up to give Azalea her mother's brooch and talk. He says how her mother knew that by marrying into royalty she'd have to put up with a lot of icky stuff, and it was important that she knew before going in.
  • Then he tells her that Mr. Bradford is waiting for her in the ballroom, having waited the appropriate amount of time to see her.
  • She goes to meet him, and he gives her a silver handkerchief embroidered with her initials, which she takes as a marriage proposal (it kinda is).
  • But they don't get a moment of privacy, since all her sisters have been spying on them from outside the ballroom windows (typical sister prank). And the King is with them, too.
  • Mr. Bradford leads Azalea into a dance, and she gives him the Soul's Curtsy. They finally kiss. The rest of the girls come inside to do a welcome-to-the-family dance for Mr. Bradford, and they make sure to pull the King in, even though he protests that he's not a good dancer.
  • Azalea feels the warm flicker of magic, and she knows that this is the best dance they've ever done.
