- In the now: Nikki feels like things are better with Jack, and she's getting along with her dad, too. He even asks her to run the design for his campaign flyers into town.
- Nikki runs into Jack (literally) as he's working to deliver some packages and they walk around together. Then a bartender finds Jack and tells him to come get his brother, Will.
- Will was at war, and now that he's back, he's drinking a ton and not doing so hot. They walk Will back to Jack's car, and Will comments on how Nikki is the girl whose disappearance messed Jack up a bunch.
- That night, Cole visits Nikki and invites her to the Christmas Dance, since he's been asked to make a guest attendance by the band that's booked to play.
- At first Nikki refuses, but then she says she'll go if Cole promises to never enter her house again and to stay away from her family.
