House: Gryffindor, 3rd Year
Ginny Weasley is the Weasleys' youngest child and only daughter. The running joke throughout the early part of the series, starting with Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, is that she has a huge crush on Harry. She has almost no role in Goblet of Fire, though. The only thing that really happens is that she gets disappointed in her choice of Yule Ball date. Ron suggests (as a last resort) that Ginny go to the Yule Ball with Harry. Ginny looks "extremely miserable" as she admits, "I 'm going with – with Neville [...] I thought ... well ... I'm not going to be able to go otherwise, I'm not in fourth year" (22.121). Poor Ginny. And poor Neville, going to the Yule Ball with a girl who clearly wants to go with someone else. School dances are so painful.
