Enter Jack Cade and the rest, and strikes his staff on CADE Now is Mortimer lord of this city. And here, sitting Enter a Soldier running. SOLDIER Jack Cade, Jack Cade! CADE Knock him down there. They kill him. DICK If this fellow be wise, he’ll never call you Jack Takes a paper from the dead Soldier and My lord, there’s an army gathered together in CADE Come, then, let’s go fight with them. But first, go All exit. | Cade and his army run on stage. Cade makes sure everyone knows he's Lord Mortimer, a noble (and not Jack Cade, a commoner). A soldier runs away from Cade and his men, yelling "Jack Cade!" Cade's men kill him. That'll teach people not to call the guy Jack Cade. Dick informs Cade that an army has gathered at Smithfield. Let's go fight them, Cade says. But first, they should set fire to London—the Bridge, the Tower, whatever. |
