- Apparently, women are fragile creatures who need protecting from the big bad world.
- Of course, that logic only seems to apply to white women.
- Case in point: Sojourner worked just as hard as men…and a lot harder than white women.
- She planted and harvested in the fields, got beaten for her trouble, and worked up an appetite like men.
- She had children and watched them have to work as well.
- If she was a woman and capable of all of that, why was she not treated as equal to men?
