The House of the Scorpion Steaminess Rating

Exactly how steamy is this story?

G

While this book has lots of violence and death and other stuff that might bump a movie into PG-13 territory, sex is pretty much nonexistent here. This is probably because Matt is a kid for the bulk of the novel, and when he does hit puberty, he's a little busy trying to stay alive. Sure, Matt does find time to fall in love with María (and she with him), but aside from a few hugs and kisses, the two don't really have time to start any sort of relationship. Maybe in the sequel.
