Pylades

Pylades doesn't talk much, but he sure helps out in a pinch. Not only is Pylades with Orestes every step of the way (so that we can think of him providing support just by being there), but he also shouts out encouragement to Orestes at the decisive moment when it looks like he might back down from killing his mother: "Think of all men as your enemies rather than the gods!" (901). These facts make Pylades seem a very important mentor in our books.
