Character Analysis
Mrs. Macready is the Professor's housekeeper. She dislikes children and insists that Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy stay out of her way, especially when she is showing sightseers the features of the Professor's famous country house.
You can think of Mrs. Macready as representing a whole segment of the adult population that wants children to be seen and not heard; the youth-loving world of Narnia sharply contrasts with her attitude.
