What’s Up With the Epigraph?

Epigraphs are like little appetizers to the great entrée of a story. They illuminate important aspects of the story, and they get us headed in the right direction.

Soul meets soul on lovers' lips.
- Percy Bysshe Shelley, Prometheus Unbound

What's up with the epigraph?

Ready to have your mind blown? The epigraph for Lips Touch: Three Times has to do with kissing. What's that? That didn't blow your mind? Well fine then. Smarty pants.

"Soul meets soul on lovers' lips" drives home the point that a kiss isn't just a kiss, though, especially in these strange tales. In all three stories, a kiss is a critical turning point for the characters and their souls. Once the protagonists kiss the dudes they love (because they do all love dudes), nothing is ever the same again.
