The Greek and Roman myths are lots of fun for the whole family, right? They've got adventure, comedy, tragedy, conflict, love – you name it. Uhhh. OK. We hate to break it to you, but Ovid's Metamorphoses is full of sex. And not just nice, loving sex. It's also got icky sex, like between parents and children and people and…pets. That said, Ovid doesn't typically go into the graphic details about all this sort of stuff. Fundamentally, he's less interested in sex itself than in sexual desire and passion. As he explores all of the infinite varieties of sexual desire, Ovid can cover some pretty weird ground. This is all just part of his attempt to convey the total wackiness of the universe.
