Exactly how steamy is this story?

If this book were a movie, it would probably get an R rating, but that would be based on violence rather than sex. Compared to the gory deaths and gnarly violence that occurs on pretty much every page of the book, the steamy elements of the book are pretty tame. The most action we get is a few desperate kisses between Katniss and Gale, or between Katniss and Peeta. Sure, kids appear at the end, but we don't hear much about what led to their appearance from, cough, a physical standpoint – more of a moral one. The characters are fighting for their lives so hard that they don't have a lot of time left for intimacy.
