Character Role Analysis

The Wolf, Jules

Winston Wolf probably wouldn't call himself a mentor. That's way too sentimental for him. But he's as close to a guide as any character gets, since he's the guy who walks everyone through the unpleasant process of cleaning up the bloody car and gangsters, and disposing of corpse and car in time for Bonnie to get home from work and find them gone. This is what he does for a living and he does it well.

In his twisted way, Tarantino even uses Jules as a mentor of sorts. His talk with Ringo in the final scene sure sounds like some life advice type talk. He gives him money and tries to get him to reconsider if "tyranny of evil men" is a lifestyle worth living. Okay, maybe giving a robber fifteen hundred bucks and letting him leave with everyone else's wallet is a bit…unconventional when it comes to life coaching, but Jules is a practical man.
