Sir Gawain and the Green Knight Steaminess Rating

Exactly how steamy is this story?

PG-13

Sir Gawain and the Green Knight gets a little bit racy when Lady Bertilak begins her seduction attempt. Although on the first day she just chats with Gawain, she ups the ante until the third day, by which point she’s stretched out alongside Gawain on the bed, her shoulders and neck bared. If the passionate kisses Gawain gives Bertilak that evening are any indication, things between Gawain and the lady were really heating up. It’s a good thing Gawain held onto his knightly honor and declined to do the deed, in which case the poem would be an R rather than the less-racy PG-13 it is.
