Mr. Lorry

Mr. Lorry guides Lucie to her father. Then he guides her to her husband. Later he becomes the presiding angel in their house in France. He’s the rational, reasonable, orderly man upon whom they depend when the whole world turns upside-down.

Of course, he needs them as much as they need him: without the Manettes, he’d be a lonely old bachelor. Looks like it’s one of those matches that’s made in heaven.
