Character Analysis
When we first meet Mig's father, he's a prisoner sent to the dungeons for stealing cows. He doesn't regret stealing the cows as much as he regrets something else that he did long ago: trading his daughter for cigarettes, a hen, and a red tablecloth. He walked away with not even a look back at the poor girl. When they're finally reunited, he dedicates the rest of his life to making it up to her. He treats her like a princess, which is just what Mig always wished for.
