- The prologue establishes the time and place of Tuck Everlasting. Super helpful stuff, if you ask us.
- The story's going to take place in a town called Treegap, during the month of August. The year isn't named, but if we do some clever detective work, by the end of the book we know that we're in 1880. This is a throwback, folks.
- The narrator tells us about three events that are going to mesh together to make the story: (1) Mae Tuck is headed to Treegap; (2) Winnie Foster is considering bailing on her family situation; and (3) a strange man has arrived in town on a mission.
- Buckle your seatbelts.
