Ah, Turtle. This story has a straightforward plot, and it pretty much involves a young girl figuring out her way through life during the Great Depression. Sure, there's a dramatic switch to hunting for treasure halfway through, but it's easy enough to keep up with. Besides, it's told from an eleven-year-old's perspective, so it's pretty easy for us to understand what Turtle is thinking and feeling as she navigates her way around her new home.
