Character Analysis
This is the very first witch we meet. In a book titled The Witches, this is kind of a big deal. She fits the bill for a witch according to Grandmamma's stories: peculiar looking, and trying to lure a child to her. There's not much to her, and she doesn't get what she wants, but she definitely serves a purpose in the story. For the first time, our narrator (and we, as readers) can be sure that there are REAL WITCHES in the world, because he's finally seen one for himself.
