Odds of Getting In
Believe it or not, opportunities for anthropologists are growing steadily, although more people are attempting to finagle their way into the biz every year, so this offsets the amount of opportunity somewhat. It helps if you wear a fedora and carry a whip. (Okay, so Indiana Jones was an archaeologist, but that and anthropology are pretty closely linked.)
It helps if you're flexible about what it is that you want to do. Open to teaching? Wouldn't mind doing business consulting? Okay with the idea of living among African Pygmies for two years? Excellent. You start Monday.
