Hanging on depends entirely on the success of your band...which depends on your success as a promoter and publicist. (We have a real-life chicken-and-egg dilemma on our hands here.) 

Most bands don't stay together as long as the Rolling Stones have, so you may find yourself out of a job unless you can latch onto some budding star with staying power. If you can't make that happen...does the frontman have an equally talented kid brother or sister?
