Stress
Is working in a noisy, chaotic, messy place with the responsibility of caring for other peoples' children stressful? You bet your behind it is.
From the time you walk in the door, the atmosphere is crazy—even during naptime, when the little ones are most likely to have...accidents. Still, naptime does provide a bit of much-needed reprieve. In that sliver of time you'll get to take a few deep breaths and prepare yourself for another round with Eric, also known as Mr. Always-Gets-His-Way-At-Home.
The kids will be loud, arts and crafts time will be messy, and parents will be nosy and overbearing. As a daycare worker your superpower needs to be patience. Most of your stress will come from minor annoyances that pile up or come crashing down like an avalanche; it's your job to keep a smile on your face and remain a positive role model for the tiny ones...no matter how menacing that look is in little Eric's eye.
