Fame
A civil engineering gig isn't going to make you famous; at least, not as long as you keep getting it right. As long as you correctly calculate the building loads, find all the hidden environmental hazards, and estimate the construction costs within a reasonable margin, you'll probably keep your job.
However, let's suppose you stayed out reeeally late the night before an important soil test. You took a few shortcuts you shouldn't have taken, and now your newly-constructed building is sinking slowly into the swamp. Perhaps you glossed over an environmental hazard report and failed to notice the fifty-odd drums of toxic waste buried at the bottom of the page...and at the bottom of the ravine on the construction site.
Now that the building is halfway finished, the EPA has shown up and you're hosed. That will make you famous...or infamous.
