Fame
Like most people who work for companies, agencies, institutions, universities, and so on, you're likely to pass your life without much press—unless you count the obituary in your local paper.
That said, there are a number of famous cryptographers. Many of them have a cipher or algorithm named after them. Ahem, Caesar and Vigenere. Your odds of becoming famous are considerably upped if there happens to be a cataclysmic world war going on. If you're really lucky (a.k.a. your name is Alan Turing), you'll get turned into a movie starring Benedict Cumberbatch.
But probably not. Don't get confused. You're more anonymous than the identity thefts you track down on a daily basis.
