Glory

You want glory? This career includes buckets of it. The ability to identify internal problems without actually opening a person up is glorious. You're sparing patients costly, invasive, painful surgeries while not scrimping on the accurate diagnosis. And then, when you help deliver that diagnosis, you're helping them take the first steps toward controlling whatever it is that's plaguing them.

As with all medical careers, there's no such thing as being a solo act. Hospitals are a team effort, which means you won't get to take much in the way of personal credit when another patient walks away from the building cancer-free and happy. Then again, personal credit (usually) isn't the reason people get into the business of saving lives.
