20-Year Prospect
Boy, have you chosen a tricky career.
On the one hand, you exist to protect human beings from water that reeks of licorice, which is a very important job, because licorice is kind of an acquired taste.
On the other hand, you're part of an agency that's expected to save the environment and the health of the American public with a mere eight billion dollars. Do you know what the Department of Defense will spend eight billion dollars on during the 2015 fiscal year? An F-35 Joint Strike Fighter. Actually, they're buying thirty-four of 'em.
Given that you work for a federal agency, your career field will probably still be around twenty years from now. But, at the rate your funding's getting cut, you'll be lucky if there's enough cash on hand to let you do your job.
