Qualifications
You don't have to go to art school to be qualified to create and sell art (though it certainly won't hurt). What you do need is to be talented and creative enough to make something that people want/need/want so much they think they need it.
You also need to be a stellar marketer, and have a great presentation with a cool-looking model and fabulous photos of your product. If you don't make it look good, nobody will want to buy it. And after all that is done, you need to be dedicated enough to do it over and over and over again.
This business is one part luck and two parts work ethic. Maybe you can't control your luck, but the work ethic bit is totally within your power. If you've got a good one, and a few good ideas, you should have no trouble getting in.
