Odds of Hanging On
Those who get into a career in floriculture tend to hang on—much like that last stubborn rose petal that refuses to drop. It can be a difficult industry to get started in, but if you can move up the ranks (and that's a pretty big "if"), things tend to get a little easier.
Because floriculture needs to remain mostly small-time and intensely manual in terms of labor (no big production-line-filled corporations here), if you're able to get to a management position, you'll have a good chance at keeping it for quite a while.
Yes, the work is hard, dirty, and often pretty unforgiving on your joints, but those who do it seem to enjoy it enough to make a career of it. Just keep planting those seeds, and eventually some financial stability just might crop up for you.
