20-Year Prospect
If you've recently graduated from college, you know how difficult finding your own affordable healthcare can be (key word: affordable). You're not alone. A lot of Americans, young and old, are struggling to gain access to affordable healthcare—and HMOs are one of the cheaper options in America.
With the wealth gap between higher-income and...not higher income becoming larger and larger, and with over 300 million Americans on some sort of government assistance, it's safe to say that the need for HMOs isn't going anywhere (source).
Since legislation is usually slow to change, especially on a federal level (just think about how long it took Obamacare to get off the ground), it's unlikely that a massive government program will just swoop out of the sky and dramatically change the way things are run. Little changes will be made over time instead, and so long as you know what they are, keeping everything current shouldn't be an issue. If you can just manage to avoid burnout, you could be in this job for decades.
