Physical Danger
Let's be honest—life as an IP lawyer probably won't be as suspenseful as a John Grisham novel. You'll certainly have thrilling moments throughout your career, but they'll come more in the form of settlements, case dismissals, and epic wins rather than international conspiracy and intrigue.
However, if you're a patent lawyer, keep one thing in mind: you have to try out your client's new invention before bringing it to the U.S. Patent Board. Whatever gadgets or programs you may have to test will most likely be harmless, but, who knows what could happen. You may become the star of your very own slapstick comedy after drinking Dr. Goon's weird green elixir that he swore was absolutely safe.
Mostly, though, you'll be totally safe—comfortably sitting on a cushy leather chair in a spacious office, only worried about avoiding paper cuts.
